A native of Swindon, "Oggie" was a product of the youth system at the County Ground - he rarely featured in the first team and never found the net. The small striker's best run in the team came in his final season, in March 1993, when he wore the number 7 shirt three times in a row, in the away draws at Southend United and Luton Town, and the 2-1 home win against Champions-elect Newcastle United.
