A product of the youth team, striker Waldon was drafted into the first team toward the end of the 2012/13 campaign - and after being named as an unused substitute throughout March and April, he made his League debut on the penultimate day of the season, coming on for the last four minutes of a 3-0 win over Stevenage that confirmed the Town’s place in the play-offs. At the end of the season, Waldon signed his first professional contract before having successful loan spells at clubs of gradually increasing quality - first Frome, then Conference South side Gloucester, before a spell at Conference Premier Tamworth. When he returned to the County Ground, almost a year after his debut, he made two further late cameos in back-to-back victories over Tranmere and Sheffield United in March 2014. During the 2014/15, Waldon played a part in four games during the early part of the season, including a league start against Coventry where he was paired with Andy Williams up front. After a substitute appearance away at Plymouth in the Football League Trophy, Waldon did not step on the field for Town again and was released at the end of the season after a loan spell at Swindon Supermarine.
