Ray TREACY

When Town striker Arthur Horsfield moved to Charlton at the end of the 1971/1972 season, manager Dave Mackay returned to Charlton to sign his replacement, paying £35,000 for Treacy's services - and doubling the previous club record, which coincidentally was held by Horsfield.

An Irish international, his goalscoring record at Swindon was patchy, scoring sixteen goals in the 55 league appearances he made for the Town. In total, he made 42 apperances for his country, eleven of which came during his time at the County Ground.

He left the club midway through his second season, joining Preston North End in December 1973 for £30,000.
