Jamie SLABBER

A striker who joined the club on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on his 20th birthday, the last day of 2004, Slabber's loan was a delayed part of the deal that took Leigh Mills to Spurs - the same agreement that had brought Mark Yeates to the County Ground at the start of the season. As he was in the last few months of his contract at Spurs, Slabber was eager to get a deal elsewhere.

After making his debut as a substitute in a terrible 3-0 defeat at home to Colchester on New Year's Day, he made his full debut on January 29th, in a 3-0 win over Stockport. Though the Town won three of the four games he started, Slabber didn't really impress - and when Michael Proctor was signed on loan from Rotherham, Slabber was relegated back to the subs' bench. Shortly afterwards, in mid-March, manager Andy King informed Slabber that there was unlikely to be a deal for him at the County Ground, and he would have been allowed to return to Tottenham - but clauses in the loan contract prevented him from doing so. Eventually, on April 1st, he arranged another loan deal with Aldershot Town, where he stayed for the remainder of the season.
