Lawrie SANCHEZ

Signed on a short-term deal during the latter stages of Swindon's 1993/94 Premiership season, Sanchez joined the Town from Wimbledon, where he had scored the winning goal in the 1989 FA Cup Final against Liverpool. Sanchez made his Swindon debut in the gritty 2-2 home draw against eventual champions Manchester United, and made a total of eight appearances, the last of which was against his old club Wimbledon in a 4-2 home loss. He left the club at the end of the season, and became player-manager at Irish team Sligo Rovers, eventually going on to be the manager of Wycombe Wanderers and the Northern Ireland national team.
