David PEACH

Signed to replace Town legend John Trollope, circumstances were against Peach from the very moment he joined the club.

Before joining Swindon, Peach was an England under-21 and under-23 international who won both the FA Cup and League Cup during his time with Southampton. His time at Swindon had the worst possible start - his debut coming in 6-2 thrashing at Millwall in March 1980.

That defeat, along with his £150,000 transfer fee, got Peach off to a terrible start with the fans - and he was never a popular player throughout his whole Town career. He made 52 appearances in three seasons, before leaving the club to join Orient in 1981.
