One of a number of veterans to sign for John Gorman during the 1993/94 Premiership season, ex-Scotland international and renowned playboy McAvennie made his full Swindon debut in the 1-1 draw at home to his former club West Ham United in on March 5th, after two sub appearances against Norwich City and Manchester City. His only other starts for Swindon were in the 7-1 defeat away at Newcastle United, and the 2-2 home draw against Manchester United - his last appearance in a Town shirt was as a substitute against Ipswich Town in a 1-1 away draw.
