Conor MASTERSON | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Central defender Masterson was something of a ‘what might have been?’ at Town. Brought in on loan from QPR in January 2021, at a time when Town’s defence was really struggling, Masterson was highly rated, on the fringe of the first team at a Championship club and a regular for the Republic of Ireland’s U21 side. He impressed across five appearances starting with the 2-2 draw at Charlton, starting the first four alongside Dion Conroy including the 1-0 win over Wigan, one of Town’s four clean sheets achieved in the entire season. Unfortunately, he picked up a serious hamstring injury in a game against Shrewsbury in February, and had to be replaced in the 41st minute. The injury would keep him out for the remainder of the season, and to add insult to injury, he was replaced by Taylor Curran. PLAYING RECORD:
