Ali KOIKI

Londoner Koiki was a highly rated prospect in the Burnley academy when he signed for Town on loan in January 2019, very much at the other end of his career from Town’s incumbent left back Matt Taylor, playing his final season of a glittering career.

Bright going forward but with a bit to learn defensively, Koiki replaced Taylor in the 67th minute of a home game against Lincoln City for his Town debut and thereafter established himself as the first choice in the position, allowing Taylor a much needed spell out of the side. Overall, he played 15 games in a Town shirt which saw only two defeats as Town finished the season strongly but drew too many games to mount a playoff challenge.

After the conclusion of his loan spell, Koiki spent another season at Burnley before joining Bristol Rovers on a free transfer.
