Tipped for the very top as a youngster at Celtic, Feruz was signed by Chelsea for around £300,000 and handed a generous professional contract at just 15 years old. By the time he signed on loan for Swindon at 21, his star was firmly on the wane after unsuccessful loan spells in England, Scotland, Belgium and Greece and a number of controversial incidents documented elsewhere. Blessed with pace but not a lot else, Feruz made only four starts for Town and was substituted without scoring before the 70 minute mark in all of them. He played three consecutive matches after his arrival during January of 2017, but then fell foul of the league’s loan rules - with Town having seven loan players in their squad and only able to select five of them on a matchday, Feruz didn’t make a matchday squad for three months before a valedictory start in the final game of the season against Charlton Whilst at Town, Feruz appeared at Glasgow Crown Court and admitted driving his £80,000 Porsche whilst disqualified. His career is in many ways a sad cautionary tale of a young man who got too much too soon - he never played a professional game again after leaving Swindon and eventually left Chelsea without making a first team appearance in January 2019.
