Mohamed EL-GABAS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
An Egyptian international striker, El-Gabas was signed at the end of August 2013 after a trial spell, having previously played in the Belgian top-flight for Lierse. After delays to his international clearance, El-Gabas made his debut in the final minutes of a 3-2 home win over Bristol City in September. He’d remain largely on the bench during his time at the club, with Nicky Ajose, Nile Ranger and Dany N’Guessan preferred in the starting line-up. El-Gabas did have some bright moments in his cameo appearances, and while he didn’t score a goal in his 10 games, he did find the target in a penalty shootout victory over Stevenage in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. It proved to be his final appearance, with El-Gabas released when his short-term deal expired in December. PLAYING RECORD:
