Adam EL-ABD | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
An experienced defender and former Egypt international, with over 300 appearances for Brighton and Hove Albion, who joined Swindon on-loan from Bristol City in October 2015. With Town struggling in the league, El-Abd found it difficult to help Town reverse their fortunes as manager Mark Cooper was sacked shortly after his arrival. In fact, Swindon failed to win any of El-Abd’s first six games before a 2-1 home victory over Scunthorpe United ended the run - though this was swiftly followed by a 5-1 loss at Fleetwood Town with El-Abd scoring an own goal in the heavy defeat. Town seemed to rally under new manager Martin Ling as El-Abd played every minute in a four game winning streak over Walsall, Chesterfield, Rochdale and Shrewsbury Town before losses in his final two games before returning to Bristol City at the end of the year.
