Josh COOKE

A squat, broad-shouldered, striker Josh Cooke earned a professional contract after making his way through the club’s youth system.. Cooke’s debut came near the end of the 2014-15 season. With a play-off place secured, Mark Cooper chose to rest several senior players for a trip to Preston - and Cooke was given the last six minutes from the bench, having already been offered a pro-contract for next season. He was then named in the starting line up for the next game with Leyton Orient, only to be the man substituted mid-way through the first half when goalkeeper Ty Belford was sent off. The next season began with loan spells at Cheltenham, who’d just been relegated to the National League, and Gloucester. The forward would then make two further substitute appearances for Town before he was released, one of which came at Scunthorpe with the team already 6-0 down.
