A Nigerian under-20 international who signed for the Town on a two year deal in August 2008, from Dutch Eerste Division side SC Cambuur. Though the transfer fee was undisclosed, manager Maurice Malpas revealed that Swindon attempted to sign Casal for a performance related fee, after Cambuur had previously accepted a €80,000 offer from Hungarian side Újpest FC, only for the deal to fall through. After signing a two year deal, it was revealed that Casal has turned down an approach from former England manager Steve McClaren to sign for the Town, despite McClaren's FC Twente side having qualified for the Champions League. Casal made his debut just two days after signing, on the opening day of the season in a 3-1 victory over Tranmere. Unfortunately, he didn't live up to the expectation that the move had created - and after being taken off with a slightly strained hamstring in a game at MK Dons at the end of the month, he made just two more appearances in October - as a late substitute at Hartlepool, then playing just over an hour after starting at Southend. That proved to be the final time that Casal was named in the sixteen during 2008/09, as he even struggled to hold down a place in the reserve team. When Casal failed to make any impact at all at the start of the 2009/10 season, it was not a surprise that he left the club by mutual consent in January - but it was a surprise when it was Romanian champions CFR Cluj who signed him on a free transfer.
