Wayne CARLISLE

The Northern Ireland U-21 international signed on loan from Crystal Palace during the early stages of the 2001/2002 campaign. Carlisle made his debut coming on as a second half substitute in a home league fixture to Cambridge United, the midfielder helped Swindon grab three vital points late on as Giuliano Grazioli pounced twice in the last ten minutes to earn the Robins a 2-0 win. He scored on his full league debut for the Town, in a 1-1 draw at Wycombe, and he went on to start a total of twelve games. He found the net again in the final game of 2001, with Swindon holding on to a 2-1 lead against lowly Bury, Carlisle bagged the vital third goal and secured the three points.
