Calvin ANDREW | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A targetman signed on an initial month's loan from Crystal Palace in March 2011, rejoining his former boss Paul Hart at the County Ground - Andrew was signed to add some physical presence in the Town attack, as the spearhead in a 4-5-1 formation. He made his debut in a crucial relegation battle against Dagenham and Redbridge, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Whilst no-one could doubt Andrew's commitment to the cause - he gave 100% in every game he played - he often found himself isolated up front with Hart's set-up, and he scored just one goal for Swindon, a screamer of a strike from 25 yards that proved to be the only goal of the game at Brentford. Shortly after that strike, Andrew's loan was extended to a second month, but the Town's lack of goals during Hart's reign contributed to inevitable relegation to League Two - and after Andrew was dropped to the bench for a 3-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday that consigned Swindon to the fourth tier, Hart was sacked, and caretaker boss Paul Bodin recalled him for the penultimate game. After that though, with Bodin wanting to blood some of the club's youngsters, Andrew's loan was cut short, and he returned to Selhurst Park. PLAYING RECORD:
