Born in Bury, Ajose learned his trade with Manchester United but did not make an appearance for the Red Devils before moving to Peterborough in a £300,000 deal - and it was from London Road that he signed for the Town in August 2013, scoring 10 goals in 21 appearances before being recalled by the Posh at the end of the year. Manager Mark Cooper described the striker as "one of the fittest players we've ever seen". After an unsuccessful move to Leeds, Ajose returned to Swindon in September 2015 on a three-year permanent contract, having been released from Elland Road - he hit the ground running and was a prolific scorer in a strong Town side - his 25 goals in forty appearances making him hot property. After rejecting a £500,000 offer from an unnamed Championship club, Ajose was sold to Charlton in the summer for an undisclosed fee reported to be around the £750,000 mark. Not settling at The Valley, he returned to the Town again on loan just six months later, scoring another five goals in fifteen matches - but his goals were unable to save the Town from relegation. An energetic, pacy player who worked hard, his three spells at Swindon brought him a very healthy forty goals in 71 starts in all competitions. PLAYING RECORD:
