Another of those clubs that Swindon did not meet until the deregionalisation of Division Three in 1958, despite both being founder members of the regionalised Division Three, Swindon won the first encounter 1-0 through an Arthur Darcy goal, Wrexham won the return match by the same scoreline.

In 1984, new player-manager Lou Macari made his Town debut against Wrexham - and he scored Swindon's opening goal in a 2-1 victory.
