Division One - Birmingham City vs Swindon Town

Swindon and Birmingham played out an incredible match in April 1993 - with Swindon gunning for promotion, they travelled to their relegation threatened hosts in search of three valuable points. This looked unlikely when the Blues scored twice in quick succession just before the half-hour mark, and though Shaun Taylor pulled a goal back just before half-time, Birmingham looked to have put the game firmly out of reach after scoring twice in the opening six minutes of the second period. Player-manager Glenn Hoddle changed things around - moving from his usual sweeper position into midfield - sparking possibly the greatest comeback in the Town's history. Craig Maskell made it 4-2 on the hour mark, and a diving header from David Mitchell reduced the arrears further, before another Mitchell effort levelled things up with fifteen minutes remaining. Just two minutes later, a looping header from Maskell put the Town 5-4 ahead, then in injury time, Mitchell completed his hat-trick and an amazing 6-4 win for the Town by rounding the City keeper and slotting home. 

The first matches with Birmingham came in 1961, when the sides were drawn together in the second second of the League Cup competition. After a 1-1 draw at St Andrews, goals from Keith Morgan and Ralph Hunt secured a 2-0 replay win for the Town.
